Press & Reviews
What the press have to say about my work.
Schumann 'Rhenish' Symphony
He chose exactly the right tempo with the result that the whole symphony was full of energy and rhythmic drive. Added to which there was excellent attention to detail, dynamics and balance which ensured that all the melodic lines could be clearly heard as there can be a tendency in this work for these to get lost when the orchestral texture becomes fuller.
Schoenberg Verklate Nacht
Ben Crick's unambiguous conducting brought out the narrative in this piece unerringly.
Haydn 'Clock' Symphony
Under the direction of Ben Crick the orchestra played with flair, accuracy and, perhaps most refreshingly, a genuine sense of fun.
Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings
Ben Crick is getting ever more skilled at coaxing out every possible colour from the string section of the excellent Skipton Building Society Camerata.
Dido and Aeneas
Crick's tempi and dramatic pacing were perfectly judged, allowing a full exploration of Dido's flawed character.
Bradford Telegraph and Argus
Handel’s miraculous score emerged with clarity – helped mainly by Ben Crick’s well judged lively tempi.
